The innovative combination of Poloxamer and Polyhexanide (PHMB) significantly reduces surface tension, making it easier to mechanically remove stubborn crusts, necrotic tissue, cellular debris, and existing biofilms. Application Method:
Before applying ACTOLIND® Gel Plus, always ensure the wound is thoroughly cleansed and rinsed (ideally using ACTOLIND® w Solution) to remove loose surface particles. Apply a generous layer of the gel directly to the wound surface or fill deeper wound cavities. Bandages or dressing materials can then be applied over the gel-covered area.

Application Area: Acute, chronic, infected, necrotic wounds, trauma sites, surgical incisions, and 1st/2nd degree burns.
Layer Thickness: Apply a generous coating (approx. 2–3 mm thickness) over the entire wound bed.
Dressing & Dressings: Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing or gauze. The gel keeps dressings from sticking.
Deep Cavities & Tunnels: Carefully fill deep wound cavities up to 4/5 of their depth to allow natural expansion.
Frequency: Reapply during each regular dressing change, as recommended by medical professionals.
Removal: Any remaining gel from previous applications can be easily rinsed off with wound solution.

For professional and medical wound care administration. Use strictly as directed by a healthcare specialist. Do not use if there is a known hypersensitivity or suspected allergic reaction to any of the raw components. Do not apply onto hyaline cartilage, inside the eyes, middle or inner ear structures, central nervous system tissues, meninx, or during aseptic joint surgeries. Do not combine or mix with anionic surfactants, cleansing soaps, thick oils, creams, or enzymatic agents, as these may impair product efficacy; ensure any such substances are completely rinsed out prior to application. Do not use for intraocular or peritoneal lavage. Application during pregnancy, lactation, or on newborns, infants, and small children must only be initiated following a comprehensive medical risk-benefit assessment and under strict clinical monitoring. Do not reuse single-use items. Keep the container sealed properly after each application and protect the nozzle or opening from direct contamination. Discontinue use immediately and consult a physician if any signs of persistent irritation, tissue intolerance, or unforeseen adverse side effects emerge.

Can Actolind Gel Plus be mixed with another medical cream, ointment, or antibiotic ointment before being applied to the wound?

No. Actolind products should not be mixed with another cream, ointment, or chemical substance before application.

Actolind gels and solutions have patented formulations in which the molecular balance of the PHMB and Poloxamer components, the biocompatibility index, and the pH level (5.0–7.5) have been specifically optimized. Therefore, mixing the product with another cream, ointment, or chemical substance may:

Impair its protective film-forming and moisture-retention properties.
Reduce or completely eliminate its antimicrobial efficacy.
Adversely affect tissue compatibility and cause irritation.

For this reason, Actolind products should be applied directly and alone to the wound bed. If a different cream or ointment has also been prescribed by a physician, the products should not be mixed; they should be used separately, following the sequence and time intervals recommended by the physician.

Is Actolind Gel Plus suitable for use in the care or treatment of facial acne?

Actolind Gel Plus is not a product specifically developed for acne treatment and should not be used for the direct treatment of acne. Acne is a dermatological condition in which multiple factors may play a role, including sebaceous gland activity, follicular occlusion, hormonal factors, and microorganisms such as Cutibacterium acnes. Therefore, appropriate diagnosis and treatment should be determined by a dermatologist.

However, due to the antimicrobial activity provided by PHMB (Polyhexanide) and its properties that support cleansing of the skin surface, Actolind Gel Plus may be considered as supportive care in acne management. Particularly during the healing of acne-related wounds, it may help maintain the microbial load on the skin surface under control and help prevent the proliferation of certain bacteria.

Actolind Gel Plus may:

Can Actolind Gel Plus be used in cases of Aplasia Cutis? If used, what are its effects on the healing process?

Yes. Actolind Gel Plus was used in a case of Aplasia Cutis Congenita (ACC) in a poster study presented at the 19th National and 7th International Wound Congress in 2025. In this case, conservative wound care was successfully performed using Actolind Solution and Actolind Gel without the need for surgical intervention.

According to the poster results, epithelialization at the wound margins and a reduction in wound size were observed by day 18, while by day 36, the necrotic tissue had completely disappeared and most of the wound had epithelialized. The study stated that conservative wound care with Actolind Gel Plus supported the wound healing process and that the results obtained were consistent with the literature.

Can Actolind Gel Plus be used after graft procedures?

Yes. Actolind Gel Plus can be used to prepare the wound bed before grafting and to support wound care after graft application. By helping to cleanse the wound surface and control biofilm and microbial load, it supports the formation of a wound bed suitable for grafting.

After graft application, it helps maintain a moist wound healing environment, reduces dressing adherence to the wound surface, and, with regular use, helps reduce the risk of infection. In this way, it supports graft preservation and effective continuation of the wound care process.

Can Actolind Gel Plus be used in cavitary wounds?

Yes. In cavitary wounds, it fills the wound bed and helps prevent pathogen colonization. In these types of wounds, where exudate and biofilm are prone to accumulate, its formulation containing Polyhexanide (PHMB) and Poloxamer helps cleanse the wound cavity and supports the control of biofilm and microbial load. By helping maintain a moist wound healing environment, it supports the development of granulation tissue and facilitates more effective wound care.

For cavitary wounds, it is recommended that the product be used in conjunction with appropriate dressing materials that adequately fill the wound cavity and in accordance with the assessment of a healthcare professional.

What should be done before applying Actolind Gel Plus to the wound?

Before applying Actolind Gel Plus, the wound surface should be thoroughly cleansed with Actolind W Solution. The entire wound and the surrounding area should be cleansed to remove contaminants, debris, and wound residues. In deep wounds with extensive necrotic tissue, a compress soaked with Actolind W Solution should be applied for at least 10–15 minutes. The solution should not be diluted.

Once cleansing is complete, the wound bed should be completely covered with a sufficient amount of Actolind Gel Plus, followed by the application of an appropriate secondary dressing. Actolind Gel Plus helps maintain a moist environment on the wound surface and helps reduce dressing adherence to the wound bed.

Important: Before applying Actolind Gel Plus, no incompatible products such as soap, cream, oil, enzymes, or anionic surfactants should remain on the wound.

Should Actolind Gel Plus be rinsed off after application?

No. Actolind Gel Plus should not be rinsed off after application. A sufficient amount of Actolind Gel Plus is applied to the cleansed wound surface, followed by an appropriate dressing. The gel may remain on the wound until the next dressing change. Actolind W Solution may be used during the subsequent dressing change to remove the previous gel layer from the wound surface.

Can Actolind Gel Plus be applied directly to the wound?

Yes. Actolind Gel Plus can be applied directly to the wound surface. Before application, it is recommended that the wound be thoroughly cleansed with Actolind W Solution, after which the wound bed should be completely covered with a sufficient amount of Actolind Gel Plus and appropriately dressed. Should the wound be covered after Actolind Gel Plus is applied?
